Yvonne Murphy MA, MSW, CMC - Chairman / CEO
Founder, received her Masters Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University and second Masters Degree from John Jay College in Forensic Psychology. With more then 17 years of experience with long-term care, health care, housing options, consulting and supporting families who are caring for elderly loved ones she is able to bring diverse and innovative care plans for those with special needs.
Yvonne successfully held positions of leadership in major New York City Hospitals (Mount Sinai Hospital, Queens Hospital, and John T Mather Memorial Hospital and Monsignor Fitzpatrick Skilled Nursing Facility) guiding patients and families to the best solutions to their unique situations. Since 1995, as a Medical Social Work Supervisor, Long -Term Care Placement Manager, and Geriatric Case Manager. Yvonne has an extensive and diverse knowledge base and professional contact network that she has established to serve and provide the most up-to-date healthcare information.
Yvonne is Article 81 which means she is appointed by the courts to care for incapacitated persons. She has been appointed both guardian of person and property.
Yvonne has been an expert witness for eldercare attorneys using her years of experience to review care plans and supporting evidence to present to the court on behalf of the clients.
Yvonne is the owner of Beacon Geriatric Consulting Agency, which has brought innovative solutions to the complex case management seniors need today. Beacon Geriatric Consulting Agency has laid the groundwork to meet the needs of the active 21st century senior. With individualized care plans, Beacon creates a strong foundation to take seniors from independence to supportive care with a safety net in place.
Beacon Geriatric Consulting Agency is a leader in the community with ongoing Health Care Symposiums keeping seniors informed about changes in entitlements and the law that affect their lives and future. In addition, she has conducted seminars and trainings on Effective Communication with Alzheimer's Patients. She has also written an article on "What is a Geriatric Care Manager". Yvonne appeared on Channel 7, WABC-TV News regarding senior financial abuse. She remains a constant source of information to Hospitals, Doctors and Attorneys about the elderly and elder care issues.
